AIG to offer homeland security-related services to help mitigate disaster/terrorism threats | 03.21.2007 | 06:57:07 | Views: 5734 | ID: March 21 '07: The insurance and financial services company AIG has announced that it has developed new services targeted at helping businesses mitigate the risks posed by natural disasters and terrorism and to help them recover in the aftermath, a press release announced recently. The AIG Homeland Security Solutions "will offer terrorism - and security-realted products and services available through AIG member companies," the press release read. Products to be offered "range from emergency planning and threat assessments, political risk and property terrorism insurance ... [and] crisis management services." The new services were designed under the National Infrastructure Protection Plan developed by the Department of Homeland Security. Robert Cruz, the practice leaders for the service based in New York said "AIG Homeland Security Solutions provides resources and expertise to companies facing exposures associated with terrorist attacks, by reducing vulnerability, mitigating damage and creating critical financial protections against the entire range of attacks that occur to help manage the physical, operations, and financial aspects of the exposure."
