Company releases new water safety monitoring technology for cities | 03.26.2007 | 07:44:25 | Views: 5601 | ID: March 26 '07: A new early warning system designed for municipal water systems called GuardianBlue™ has been developed for the Department of Homeland Security, a press release from the Hach Company announced. The system will help city managers detect any possible security breach in the water supply from a possible terrorist attack or a natural disaster. GuardianBlue™ is the first of its kind, according to the company. The system will be able to detect trace amounts of dangerous chemicals in thw water supply "using patented Even Monitor technology - to detect, alert and classify contaminants from cyanide and pesticides to ricin and VX." Details of the system were outlined in the press release: "The GuardianBlue™ Early Warning System is comprised of the following components - the Event MonitorTM with Agency Library, Water Panel, TOCTM (Total Organic Carbon Analyzer and optional Auto-Sampler."
