Alabama farm team and Boy Scouts partner with DHS for emergency preparedness | 04.25.2007 | 07:05:49 | Views: 5625 | ID: April 25 '07: The Huntsville Stars baseball team will partner with the Boy Scouts of American and the Department of Homeland Security on May 19, to help spread information about community involvement and preparedness. The Alabama partnership is a piece of a larger national program in its fourth season that has seen DHS working with the Minor Baseball League. This year, almost 50 minor league teams will be partnering with homeland security through the Ready Campaign. During the game on May 19, Boy Scouts from local troops will be handing out the "Get Ready Now" preparedness brochures to fans as they leave the stadium in Huntsville. Mike Moore, president and CEO of Minor League Baseball said, "Our clubs are extremely proud to be able to work with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Boy Scouts of American in helping educate Americans on how to better prepare their families in case of an emergency through the Ready campaign."
