Sam's Club hosts emergency preparedness forum | 07.25.2007 | 07:07:21 | Views: 6020 | ID: July 25 '07: The Grand Island News Independent in Nebraska reported that the surrounding community will be host to an emergency preparedness forum delivered by Sam's Club through a program the company has begun to raise awareness about community preparedness. More than 114 stores nationwide will participate in the event. "In-store events have been organized to feature plans, projects, packages that could help local residents prepare for and survive disasters. ... Local emergency groups will be on hand to assist individuals and businesses with their disaster plans," the Independent reported. "Sam's Club members and nonmembers are welcome to participate." The program will last from Tuesday through Sunday. Each day will focus on one aspect of response. Tuesday - medical and CERT; Wednesday - utilities and shelter; Thursday and Friday - food and water; Saturday and Sunday - kits and family emergency planning.
