The partnership plans on distributing wallet-sized emergency communications cards in conjunction with information and resources provided on websites. Harry Campbell, the president of consumer markets for EMBARQ said, "When an emergency occurs, the first thing people often reach for is a phone to call their loved ones. As a communication company, we can help people prepare, especially when staying connected by phone may be an individual's lifeline." In addition to the phone cards, EMBARQ is planning on distributing free corded landline phones in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Central and South Florida.
