Honeywell partners with Butler University | 04.23.2008 | 09:39:21 | Views: 6766 | ID: April 23 '08: Honeywell announced in a press release that it would be partnering with Butler University to deploy Honeywell's Instant Alert© emergency notification system. The emergency alert service was announced last summer. According to the press release, "Along with broadcasting information, Instant Alert© Plus can generate real-time reports that show who has and has not received a message. It also has a two-way communication function that gives organizations the ability to poll and get feedback from employees or the public. And the service allows users to develop an unlimited number of subgroups - e.g., emergency responders, board of director and security personnel - and send customized messages to these groups." Honeywell officials said Butler University faculty would be able to poll and "get feedback from students" and other the larger campus community using a two-way communication capability built into the technology. The web-based emergency alert service is triggered by an email or a phone call placed by a designated official. The Instant Alert© solution was designed specifically for higher education communities and is a branch of the Instant Alert for Schools which targets K-12 institutions and helps to connect parents and faculty.
